UNIT TESTS/SPELLING QUIZZES:
Reading tests will assess your students' ability to demonstrate the skill of our weekly (sometimes bi-weekly) lessons. Students will be given cold, or never before seen, passages and will have to use those passages to help them answer multiple choice and written responses.
Spelling quizzes will test students on weekly spelling words.
Students will also have a dictation sentence.
BEHAVIOR CLIP CHART:
In our classroom we use a clip chart to monitor behavior throughout the day. All students begin their day on "Ready to Learn (Green)" and may move up and down throughout the day as necessary. Color will be marked at the end of every day. The clip chart is as follows:
Outstanding (Purple)
Excellent Choices (Teal)
Great Effort (Blue)
Ready to Learn (Green
Think About It (Yellow)
Make Better Choices (Orange)
Parent Contact (Red)
You will receive a note in the agenda or an email if your child is on red at the end of the day. Please be sure to initial or sign that you have seen marked behavior daily!
BIRTHDAY CELEBRATIONS:
School Policy for Birthday Celebrations: Due to COVID 19 health concerns, birthdays can be celebrated by sending in store bought and individually wrapped treats that the teacher can hand out before lunch. Parents and other visitors will NOT be permitted to come in and eat with students. .

BINDER/TAKE HOME FOLDER:
- Students will check their mailbox weekly and take home graded work/important forms.
- Non-graded classwork assignments come home as completed for at home review.
- Graded work will be entered within 72 hours of the assignment being completed.
- Any graded work of a D or F needs to be reviewed, signed, and returned within two days.
